Telephone Advice

Call Us Phone ServiceThe free 24-hour telephone, text and online support and advice will be the key hub of Red Alert HELP! providing assistance for families affected by deaths or abuses in custody, or concerned about vulnerable relatives or friends in police, prison or immigration custody, or those held under the Mental Health Act.

Trained volunteer advisors will be on-hand initially 12 hours a day (and 24 hours a day after the first twelve months of operation) to offer basic advice / legal direction, support and signposting to anyone concerned about the welfare of loved ones that are held in some form of custody as defined above.

Advisors will have access to an array of information to assist in such cases and Red Alert will have developed links with a number of agencies and organisations from within the voluntary, statutory and private sectors.

Initially covering Birmingham and The Black Country, we aim to roll the service out across the West Midlands and beyond under our franchise programme.

The service will act as a signpost to established community and statutory services that can offer practical assistance, and that callers may not have been aware of beforehand.

Important Note:

In some circumstances anonymised information may be passed to other agencies or relevant community groups, voluntary organisations and statutory organisations that we collaborate with. This would only be for the express purposes of influencing meaningful change and reform.
