Advocacy Services

Mental Health LonelyManRed Alert HELP! will seek to develop an advocacy signposting service as part of its development. Fundamentally this service will be made up of a team of advisors / mentors / liaison workers who will signpost and support families through any interaction with third party agencies and organisations.

Initially covering Birmingham and The Black Country, we aim to roll the service out across the West Midlands and beyond under our franchise programme.

An individual, family or group will be assigned an advisor / mentor / liaison worker who will (where required) be on-hand to offer any support or intervention needed on their behalf with third party referrals.

We will seek to co-operate with services such as custody visiting programmes and similar initiatives to monitor and / or evaluate the quality of service provision from relevant statutory agencies.

The team will also guide and advise family campaign groups on effective management of their work (encouraging use of the INQUEST Skills Toolkit), and in appropriate interactions and dialogue with statutory agencies such as the police, prison, immigration and mental health services.

Other advocacy initiatives remain under consideration.

Important Note:

In some circumstances anonymised information may be passed to other agencies or relevant community groups, voluntary organisations and statutory organisations that we collaborate with. This would only be for the express purposes of influencing meaningful change and reform.
